Awards, Achievements & Me :

Chef Zakee Khan has a total experience of 26 years, 6 years in service, and 20 years in the kitchen.
I started my career as a steward, and later on got on promotion to Sr. captain & Barman. The flair in me for cooking, lead me to the kitchen, after working for 4 years as commis –1&2.

I was promoted as Chef De Partie. This was all in Narang Group Of Hotels in Aurangabad and Mumbai. I worked as an Indian Chef with the Pearline Resort, Dahanu. I worked as a chef with London Pub. At Disco Charni Road, Mumbai, I was instrumental in menu planning of Indian, Continental and Mexican snacks.

I have worked in Philippines, Germany, Morocco, Brunei, Bahrain and in Egypt .

I have worked for King Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz Of Saudi Arabia as his personal chief. I was in charge of the production team, leading a team of 105 employees.

I have worked with the Gujral Group Of Hotels, Kolkata for 9 years.

I joined this organization as an Indian chef for a restaurant of 96 covers, was instrumental in the opening of this place which included staff recruitment, staff training, menu planning of both cuisines, Indian as well as Chinese.

After two and a half years of operation of these restaurants, the Golden Harvest and the China Valley, my company expanded and made a resort in ten acres of land which had 120 rooms. In this project I was involved in making the kitchen right from the civil work stage. In this property namely The Golden Retreat, I was promoted as the Executive Chef leading a team of 70 employees.

I was instrumental in planning the menu which comprised of Indian, Tandoor, Chinese, Continental & Snacks.

After one year of operation of this property I was promoted as Deputy General Manager. Recently the group added one more hotel to its name, The Golden Park at Kolkata. It's an 80 room Boutique Hotel with 2 Banquet Halls, a Disco, and a Swimming Pool. We do undertake outdoor catering also.

In this property also I was instrumental from the civil works stage. Kitchen planning was done entirely by me, comprising of Main Kitchen, Service kitchen, and Bakery.

The entire menu of the hotel consisting of Bengali, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Continental, South Indian and Bakery was conceived by me. I have even done Bengali, Coastal food festivals.

I was designated here as Corporate General Manager.

My assignment was as Director Of Operations For Asia Pacific Fine Dinning.

My achievements:-
  • I write for Femina magazine, twice my recipes have been published. Once it was snacks & mocktails, next time it was Fusion Of Arabic And Indian Food.
  • I had the distinction of pleasing Mr. Hosni Mubaraks palate with my fusion of Indian and Italian cuisine.
  • My food was praised by top football players of Brazil, Argentina & Columbia when a royal dinner was hosted by The King Of Saudi Arabia, during the intercontinental cup at Riyadh.
  • I used to cook food at Ms. Lawyers Place (M.D Of London Pilsner Beer) on special parties.
  • In my tenure as a chef in Golden Harvest & China Valley, we were awarded as the best restaurant eastern region, by the tourism department. The award was given by The Vice President of India.
